Getting started on Aptem
Aptem is our programme management system, where you complete your onboarding before you start. Once it is done, your next step is a pre-start meeting with your coach and your line manager.
What you do in Aptem
- Personal details. Check these carefully, including your legal name. If something is wrong and you cannot edit it, ask the onboarding team to correct it.
- Right to work. Provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.
- Prior qualifications. List your prior qualifications. You may be asked for certificates. If you can't find one, tell the onboarding team rather than leaving the step blank.
- Initial assessments. Short assessments in English, maths and digital skills.
- Inclusion declaration. Tell us about any support you need. If you need extra help, we arrange a meeting with you and agree a support plan, which your coach reads before your 1:1s.
- Skills radar. Score yourself against every part of your programme's standard. This shows where you are starting from, and your coach goes through it with you.
What happens after onboarding
- Your pre-start meeting. You, your line manager and your coach meet on Teams for about an hour, before your group's kick-off. Your coach goes through your skills radar, agrees anything you already know that can reduce your plan, and confirms your job is a good fit for the standard. They also explain how the programme works and the time it takes.
- Signatures. You, your employer and iO-Sphere sign your apprenticeship agreement and training plan in Aptem. Your coach will chase any signatures still outstanding.
- Access. The onboarding team builds your learning plan in Aptem and gives you access to Teams and to the academy, our learning platform.
- Kick-off. Your group meets for the first time. Your official start date is your first day of learning.
If you are stuck
If a step won't open, a document won't upload or a detail is wrong, contact the onboarding team: reply to the email they sent you, or email info@io-sphere.io.
